Sarah, Workshop, 5th November

In this lesson, we had our first workshop based on typography, thinking about layout, Hierachy and structure. This was a very helpful workshop, it really boosted my confidence and it was a very simple and fun workshop, that has helped me a lot with my layouts especially.

• Think about Hierachy
• Typeface
• Shape and form
• Black text
• Start thinking about rules
• Rules can be used to divide information
• Create different types of hierarchy
• Create rules to create structure
• Always horizontal first then vertical
• John Tshichold – research
• Not below 8pt
• Create 10 for shapes and 10 for vertical type different sizes
• Add colour? Mix colours?
• Stick to the grid
